Dong Mae Nang Mueang Ancient City (Thanyapuri) It is an important historical city. It has been a city since the Dvaravati period. until the beginning of the 18th Buddhist century and may have been abandoned before Sukhothai Kingdom because of the survey of the Archeological Division The Fine Arts Department in 1967 did not find any Sukhothai period objects. after excavation Guidance on reconstruction was also provided, but no further action was taken.

The town plan has a two-tiered ditch surrounded by earthworks, located between two large rivers, which are not far from each other. In the west there is the Ping River. In the east there is the Choeng Krai River. which flows with the Nan River And above the Pak Nam Pho area, up to about 50 kilometers, the remains of ancient sites in Dong Mae Nang Muang Often have their foundations buried underground. Not a high pile of bricks like some abandoned cities. Nowadays, the remains of pagodas and ancient monuments have been destroyed a lot due to some smuggling and some use of land for farming.
 
Evidence found There are ancient Buddhist sites. Unearthed human skeletons and some skeletons look like they are in bondage Stranger than others from the survey and excavation of the ancient city of Dong Mae Nang Muang in 1966 by the Fine Arts Department. Found many important antiques, such as a bronze Buddha image. The late Dvaravati sandstone Buddha statue Terracotta Buddha in Lopburi style.
 
Sangkhalok caskets, stucco ornaments, ancient inscriptions, and a survey of the Office of Archeology and the 5th National Museum have found evidence of a low-relief carved slate Buddha image. His face is a Buddha image in the Dvaravati period. Currently preserved at Wat Dong Mae Nang Muang, most of the evidence found The age was set in the late Dvaravati period. Importantly, the inscriptions found still indicate the exact era of 1710.
