Bang Luang Market Bang Luang, Bang Len, Nakhon Pathom. Bang Luang Market is an old market which has been setting up since B.E.2446 on the western bank of Tha Jeen River with 68 wooden shop houses facing each other.
Nowadays, it remains vibrant and retains the atmosphere of a traditional market and displays the harmonious integration of Thai and Chinese cultures. Local residents still live and trade here as when it first began hundreds of years ago.
In the past, Chinese immigrants set up wooden shop houses facing each other on the bank of Tha Jeen River and became vendors’ community. They used downstairs to sell goods and live upstairs.
Started with the upper market, the lower and the middle market. It became the major sea trade of Amphoe Bang Lane with several harbors, very convenient for traders.
Suphan cooperation offers a cruise from Suphan Buri to Ngiew Rai Station in Amphoe Nakhon Chaisri in order to travel between villages.
The market still remains the atmosphere of the integration of Thai and Chinese cultures such as Chinese herb shop, false teeth kiosk, homemade noodle shop.
The market is called "The harmonious integration of Thai and Chinese cultures with amazing food and dessert". There are many kind of local food such as veggie Kao Grieb Pak Moa or Chinese Pia. Every shop will put sign in Thai and Chinese.
During Chinese New Year the people will worship at Buan Hok Tueng vegetarian house. There is a cruise provided for visitors to enjoy Tha Jeen River and worship Luang Phoo Ta at Bang Luang temple, Luang Por Sukhotai at Ras Samukkee temple and Luang Phoo Klai at Sila Mul temple.
