Wat Buppharam Originally it was an ancient temple built during the Ayutthaya period, called "Dokmai Temple" with no evidence showing who built it. Later it was an abandoned temple. In the early Rattanakosin period The reign of King Nang Klao, King Rama III, Thanpuying Chan The main wife of Somdet Chao Phraya Borommaha Prayunwong (Dis Bunnag), who will be the mother of Somdet Chao Phraya Borommahasrisuriyawong (Chuang Bunnag).

It was renovated because it was a temple close to his house. Later, at the end of the reign of King Rama III, 1848, when Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Sri Suriyawong When he was still a Chamuenvaiyavaranat and Chao Phraya Thipakornwong (Kham Bunnag) when he was still Chamuen Rajamat. Has been restored. In the restoration of the temple this time His Majesty King Mongkut, King Rama IV, also assisted in the restoration work. Then he gave a new name: "Wat Buppharam".

Buppharam Temple, during the reign of King Rama V, as appears in the royal monastery directory as “Bupparam Temple, a third-class royal monastery, Worawihan type, located along the Wat Bupparam canal. Buppharam District Thonburi Province Formerly known as Wat Dokmai, it is an ancient temple of King Mongkut. Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Sri Suriyawong and Chao Phraya Thipakornwong helped build it into three parts. His Majesty King Mongkut The new name was given to Wat Buppharam. Later, Chao Phraya Phanuwong restored it.”

Somdet Chao Phraya (Chuang Bunnag) when the restoration was completed. His Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn informed the Dhammayut Nikaya Sangha from His Majesty King Mongkut. (When he was still ordained) he went to occupy the temple and then offered it as a royal monastery. The Dhammayutta Sangha, bestowed by King Mongkut at that time, had Phra Amonmoli (Nop Buddhaisanahathera) as its president.

Then Chao Phraya Phanuwong (Tuam Bunnag) and the heirs of the Bunnag clan It was later renovated. which is for the binding ceremony It was assumed that it would exist at the end of King Rama III.

When Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Sri Suriyawong and Chao Phraya Thipakornwong There is evidence of the restoration of this temple. He built important permanent objects of the temple, namely the temple, the chapel, the sermon hall, and the ancient two-story and one-story Kudi buildings. which includes the temple wall as well Considering the permanent objects that were created It can be seen that this temple was built from scratch. Because the old things are too dilapidated to restore them. But because it has been deserted for a long time This temple was renovated by senior government officials. Therefore, they have the power to maintain the temple very well.

During the Second World War on June 5, 1944, Buppharam Temple was bombed and destroyed. This caused damage to the main chapel, ancient building, sermon hall, and temple walls, making it difficult to repair. Later, Phra Thammavaralangkarn (Klom Anuphas Thera) who was the abbot at that time The construction of the temple was carried out. The sermon hall, gudi and temple walls were rebuilt.

What is clearly visible is the gable of the temple. It is the image of the Maha Suriyamonthon seal. Arches and shutters It is in the shape of the Maha Phichai Mongkut. and the Bua Kaew brand When the construction of the new temple was completed. The temple has held a ceremony to tie the knot.
