Wat Pha Nam Thip Thep Prasit Wanaram Pha Nam Yoi, Nong Phok, Roi Et. his temple is well known as the location of Maha Chedi Chai Mongkhon, one of Thailand’s largest and most beautiful pagodas. It is the sacred place and the pride of Roi Et people and northeastern people.
Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkhon is one of Thailand’s largest pagodas. Buddha’s relics have been collected here and it is respectful among Buddhists. It has 6 levels and was designed by Department of Fine Arts.
It is the combination of central region and northeastern region art style. It is white with golden decoration. It is encircled with 8 small pagodas in different directions. It is 101 meters wide, long, and high.
It is located on a 101-rai area. 60 kilograms of gold has been used for making the top of the pagoda. It is one of the significant religious places that well reflect the strong faith of northeastern people.
Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkhon also has the space for religious ceremonies, Luang Pu Si Meditation Museum, 101 portraits of ancient teacher priests, and Buddha’s relics on the top of the pagoda. People from all regions can visit here to pray for their lucky.
Travel: Visitors can use Roi Et - Pon Thong District - Nong Pok District Route. It is about 62 kilometers from Roi Et City along the Public Highway No. 2044 and 2136.
It takes about 1 hour to Nong Pok District. Continue driving to Ban Tha Sa Ad, Pha Nam Yoi District, and Khao Kiew for 5 kilometers and arrive at Wat Pha Nam Thip Thep Prasit Wanaram where Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkhon is located.
