Wat Pa Tak Suer Pha Tang, Sang Khom, Nong Khai. Wat Pa Tak Suer is a temple that has a beautiful view. Inside the temple, there is also a beautiful atmosphere. The visitors can walk along to see the nature and the view.
This temple is located on the peak of the cliff which gives the view of the whole city downstairs, which is Amphur Sangkom and the Laos country with Mekong River as the border.
If the tourists come here during winter, it is a nice view point of the sea fog and it is also a suitable place for Dhamma practice since it is very peaceful.
The history of this temple comes from the fact that a monk named Father Somdet, who wanted to practice Dhamma on the mountain peak. During his journey up, he had to use the help of the rocks and vine to help him climb up the mountain.
There were many times when the rice in his alm bowl fell out because of the route and also there were many times when his body was hurt. Time passed and the villagers decided to construct a road and a temple on the hilltop for the monk. Therefore, it turned out to be a tourist attraction.
The Sala in the temple is also shady. The Ubosot also has beautiful stairs with the view point on the top. Moreover, there is also a Chedi that contains the monk’s relics.
