Phu Fah Thai is situated near the border with Laos, directly across from Chiang Khong. With an elevation of 1,515 meters above sea level, the area enjoys cool temperatures throughout the year. The site is a fantastic viewpoint where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of the mist, with a 360-degree view. It’s also a great place to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset in the same spot.
 
The trail up Phu Fah Thai is very accessible, just 300 meters from the parking area. The short walk will lead you to the top, where you can experience panoramic mist views surrounded by valleys and get a clear view of Phu Chi Fa and the famous Lion's Nose Peak.
 
How to Get There From Chiang Rai city, drive along Highway 1 (Chiang Rai - Thoeng) towards Thoeng District. Once you reach Ban Rom Fah Thai, you’ll see signs directing you to Phu Fah Thai. The path to the top is only 300 meters from the parking area, making it easy for visitors to walk up.
 
If you don’t have your own vehicle, you can take a minivan or bus from Chiang Rai city to Thoeng District. From there, you can take a motorcycle taxi or local transportation to the starting point of the walk up Phu Fah Thai.
 
Remember to bring a warm jacket, comfortable hiking shoes, and a camera to capture the stunning views. It's also important to take care of the environment and keep the area clean so that Phu Fah Thai can maintain its natural beauty for generations to come.
