Koh Phra Thong is one among the groups of islands which is located so close to the mainland that it seems like it is on another bank of the river opposite the mainland.
The large area of Koh Phra Thong is not well-balanced with the small number of population on the island. The island is the least spoiled by modern development. The forest and wildlife are still undamaged.
Only the sound of nature is resonated here. The locals live their simple life and are well in tune with the sea. Thus visiting Koh Phra Thong you will be close to nature by sleeping in huts, watching the sea and savanna, and sightseeing by car. The last activity makes Koh Phra Thong stand out from other islands.
It's hard to believe that you find a vast savanna on the island in the middle of the Andaman Sea which was named later as the Safari of the Andaman Sea. Backed with Eugenia tree, the golden savanna stretches to the horizon. This is the home of deer that draw great attention from tourists. If you are lucky enough, you will see the deer walking on the beach. It is one of the lovely moments that rarely occur.
Notes:
- Homestay provided by local people and resorts with the embrace of nature can be found.
