The monument was located halfway between the Ratchadamnuenklang road and Dinsor road, Pranakorn, Bangkok. Built as a memorial to the change of government from absolute monarchy to democracy with the King as Head of State.
 
Democracy Monument Construction began on June 24, 2482 and officially inaugurated on 24 March 2483 in the Chom Phon Preak Piboonsongkram Prime Minister.
 
Democracy Monument As a result, the design of the ML Malakul as the winning design for this monument. The design is Thai mix. The center is a book that conveys the Constitution enshrined Besides being a symbol to commemorate the democracy.
 
This Monument Also the main center of Bangkok, Thailand. Democrats monument  have been used as an important area of political rallies and public gatherings, including many students at the event on October 14, the congregation of the people of Black May incident.
