All of these things shaped their passion for folk wisdom and local heritage, and they became serious collectors of antiques. Until the villagers dubbed it "crazy about old things"

 

Various things that have been accumulated come from many ways, including buying, requesting, exchanging, and even having some people give them. And it's not just things from the Northeastern region. But there are also items from Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China. For this reason, the name is appended to be the Isaan Folk Museum on both sides of the Mekong River.

 

After collecting for more than 10 years, the items began to increase. and there was a problem with storage Khun Somsak therefore began to think about creating a folk museum in order to give others an opportunity to see it. But at first, I felt that creating a museum was a big matter, beyond my reach, and a matter of government service. But I was inspired when I went to see the Hmong Museum.

 

At Lom Sak District Phetchabun Province Which is built in a simple style, similar to a barn or chicken coop, to collect Hmong supplies. So the idea was born that we might be able to do it. Along with inheriting more than 10 rai of land, it finally began to be organized as a museum in 1995 and opened unofficially in 1998. The museum's exhibits are divided into different buildings according to the nature of the objects. Storage It can be divided as follows:

- Folk houses displaying household appliances of the Isan people. earthenware Items used for living Weaving tools, animal traps, musical instruments, sugarcane crushers and dung.

 

- House of Antiques, displaying pottery, glassware, silverware and metal, antique currency, scales, lamps, irons, stone axes and petrified objects (fossils).

 

- The rice mill displays farming tools such as yokes and plows, wooden rakes. Medium size rice milling machine, Kradueng mortar (Mong mortar).

 

- Cart shop, displaying carts and various equipment, wheels, and aquatic animal catching tools. (There are 100 Isan carts).
