Ban Pak Phli Local Museum Pak Phli, Pak Phli, Nakhon Nayok. This local museum has collections of many ancient items which are found in the excavation area around Tombon Pak Phlee.

 

The archeologists presume that these ancient items, mainly the baked clay potteries, bronze containers, Sarid braclets and glass beads, are 2,700 - 3,000 years old.

 

At first, there was a discovery of Khok Kra Don archaeology area in Tombon Pak Phlee which is the rice field where villagers call it “Maab Khai Noe” and 2 kilometers far from the temple. The villagers found many ancient items there. Later, this museum was built in 1996. Assistant Professor 

 

Nom Ngamwisai of Faculty of Social Science, Srinakharinwirot University has cooperated with Fine Arts Department to coordinate and build this museum in order to collect the ancient items and the miscellaneous items Asst. Pro.

 

Nom has collected and donated some for the museum. Moreover, the SWU university students have classified the items into groups, made a record and displayed these items in the museum.

 

The museum displays items found in the local area such as cracking stone tools, scratching stone tools, Agate carnelian beads, iron tools, iron dregs, green stone bracelet and items in Dharavadii era for example gold earrings, gold beads, spout kettle, stone censer and baked clay weaving utensils.

 

Furthermore, there are Chinese style kitchenware in the reign of Sung which are found in Khok Kradon and other items found in other areas such as dark green (almost black) long cylinder shape beads tagged as “Takrud Aegate” from Baan Chieng,

 

Udorn Thani province, seashells from Prachinburi and contemporary items such as weaving equipments, daily life utensils, banknotes and coins. Moreover, there are many Buddha’s images in Khmer, Cheingsean, Java styles and two puppets dressed in former Likey style. 

 

Every piece is displayed in the glass room in the middle of the hall. Tourists are allowed to observe the items only from the far.
