Pridi Banomyong Memorial located along the city river Opposite Banomyong Temple It is a memorial to Mr. Pridi Banomyong, an elder statesman who led the civilian side in the transition from an absolute monarchy to a democratic regime with the King as Head of State. He was honored as an important person of the world by UNESCO in 1999.
 
Pridi Banomyong Monument is a symbolic representation of his three great ideals: peace, free Thai and democracy. Made of bronze, it consists of 6 round pillars to support the roof of a Thai house.
