Khun Pha Wo National Park It is a new national park opened. Ban Nong Luang, Village No. 3, Sam Muen Subdistrict, Mae Ramat District, along the Mae Ramat-Ban Tak Highway It is about 18 kilometers from Mae Ramat Intersection, with an area of about 380 square kilometers. Formerly known as Mae Ka Sa National Park.
Later changed its name to "Khun Pha Wo National Park" to honor Phawo who was a Karen soldier during the reign of King Taksin the Great. Therefore, he was appointed as Mr. Mae Lamao Dan. and fought against the enemy to protect the independence of the nation until he died in the battle The battlefield is in the Khun Pha Wo National Park.
The topography of the area is mostly steep mountains. It is the origin of many streams. The forest condition is very fertile, including moist evergreen forests, dry evergreen forests, hill evergreen forests, mixed deciduous forests, and trang forests.
The weather is influenced by the Andaman Sea breeze. The weather is quite humid in the rainy season. cold winter Summer is cool with an average temperature of 21 degrees throughout the year, making it cool all year round. There are a variety of plants such as teak, red, padauk, macha mong, rubber, Takhianthong, southern plants such as Luk Niang (Muang Yang), wild sataw, wild rambutan, etc.
The national park has 3 houses with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 house, 3 rooms with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and a tent site that can accommodate 500 people, with 12 bathrooms.
To get there, take Highway No. 105, Sang-Mae Sot. To Mae Sot District, turn right to Mae Ramat District. Then turn left onto Highway 1175, Mae Ramat-Ban Tak route for another 16 kilometers to reach the park office.
Bird watching activities around the park office area and the walking path to Khun Pha Wo Waterfall Birds can be seen by using binoculars. Or look with the naked eye to find many strange and rare birds. A survey conducted in March 2004 by professional bird watchers found that there were over 100 species of birds.
