Ban Don It is the center of the urban community formed by geographical factors around Bandon Bay. It is a trading center from the past to the present, developed along with many ancient communities around Bandon Bay. such as Chaiya, Tha Thong, and the upstream community is Wiang Sa. and Tha Khanon The city of Bandon has been through many eras of governance. Until the end, it is the location of the province, which is Mueang Surat Thani District, in the year 1938.
 
Surat City There is a Tapi River flowing through the city. The overall condition of the area on both sides of the water looks distinctly different. The Ban Don side is a residential area, a government center, a commercial shopping center and an important economic district of the province. On the other hand, in some areas, there is still a rural lifestyle like farmers and fishermen in flooded areas. with hundreds of canals scattered all the way to the coast
 
Surat City It is the center of tourism in the upper south, so it is also the center of travel. From Bandon, you can go to other tourist attractions around, such as Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Ranong, Chumphon, Trang, Phatthalung, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Hat Yai or Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, it has to start at Ban Don as well.
 
Travel
By car: From Bangkok, take National Highway No. 35 (Thon Buri-Pak Tho) to Wang Manao Intersection, Pak Tho District, turn left onto Highway No. 4 (Petchkasem) through Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan. Arrive at Pathomphon Intersection, Chumphon Province, then go straight onto National Highway No. 41 until Surat Thani, a total distance of about 645 km.
 
By train from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong), there is a fast train service every day. Passengers have to get off at Surat Thani Station in Phunphin District. and then take a bus into the province for approximately 13 km.
