Pier to Koh Tao in Koh Phangan District Surat Thani Province But can travel both from Surat Thani and from Chumphon city. Like Koh Tarutao, Koh Tao used to be a prison for political prisoners. There are various coral viewing sites.
 
Tourists who like to dive can dive in both deep and shallow waters. Koh Tao has beautiful white sand beaches such as Sairee Beach, Pakarang Beach, Chalok Baan Kao Beach, Laem Thian Nok, Ao Luek, Tanote Bay.
