Ban Na Jok (Ban Lung Ho) Nong Yat, Muang Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Phanom. Ban Na Jok (Ban Lung Ho) is another tourist attraction and historical place.
This place is an old village where the former president of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, used to stay, by royal protection of the king of Thailand, for his quest to redeem the liberty of Vietnam during the war.
From 1924 to 1931, Uncle Ho moved to Nakhon Panhom province with his friend considered to be his comrade. Because of the war, they had to escape from Vietnam and split, uncle Ho also had to move around and change his names several times to hide himself so no one would recognized him.
Uncle Ho’s close friend reside in Thailand and have his family here. At present, the friend’s house is inherited from generation to generation and became exhibition holding place about Uncle Ho’s biography, history related to Uncle Ho, and stories about Uncle Ho while he lived in Thailand.
In the house, there are various kind of trees planted by Uncle Ho, such as coconuts, palms,betel, bananas, and teas, which make the house so refreshing.
The house also include Uncle Ho’s tools and utensils for example desk and rice smashing machine which he used. Bann na Jok village was nominated to be the Thai-Vietnamese Cordiality Village.
There are exhibitions about life, works, and travelings of Ho Chi Minh. Moreover, there are also Vietnamese foods and noodles restaurants for visitors at the village street.
