Hoi Samai Hin Lao Mi, Don Tan, Mukdahan. Mukdaharn is a province on the south of Sako Nakon Basin. The topography consists of alternating mountains and valley.
The valley is in the middle and in the northeast part of the province. On the east of the province, it is where the Mekong River flows pass, which is the border of Thailand and Laos.
The alternating mountain and valley has a geological change since the ancient time resulting the land to change into different kinds.
There are also lots of fossils that show the development of the world and the human being which is very important to the geology studies and history. Moreover, some locations are worth seeing such as "Hoi Samai Hin".
Hoi Samai Hin is an important geological site in Thailand. It was discovered by the geologist at Kok Hin Daeng, Baan Na Yor, Tambol Lao Mhee. Hoi Samai Hin is a conch buried into the soil for around 40 feet.
There is also limestone for around 1 foot. After doing research on the conch, it can be referred that the earth crust in that area is more than 27 million years of age.
The Hoi Samai Hin was the third location found in the world. It shows the history of this area and is suitable for those who are interested in geology.
Travel: Take the highway 2034 and turn left at the 17th - 18th kilometre milestone at the Ban Na Poh entrance.
