Karen Ruammit House Mae Yao, Muang Chiang Rai, Chiang Rai. In addition to the Karen people, there are also Akha and Lahu hill tribes villages nearby. Karen village is an elephant trekking village. (Akha tribe) Baan Ruammit has a total population of 2,840 people, consisting of 1,549 households consisting of Karen tribe, Akha, Lahu, Lisu, Hmong, Tai Lue.
History is a Karen village that has been developed using tourism from a private organization and has succeeded in bringing elephants to travel on hill tribe villages. At present, it is a hill tribe center in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province.
Travel:
- Private car Travel from five separate Khun Khun Khun Rai Rai the Great Head towards Mae Chan District when crossing the bridge over the Kok River, turn left. (At the first intersection) There is a sign to the Huai Mae Lek Waterfall. And the Rok Kok sign, a large resort driving along the main road After passing the Km. 7 intersection, turn into a three-way intersection, turn left along the Ro Pho Arbor road to Ban Sai Mun, with signs showing the way to Ban Karen Ruammit. Through Ban Rim Kok Kaew Rim Kok Garden, 6 km distance.
- Bus, take a red car in Chiang Rai - Mae Yao or take a minibus to the municipal market.
- Long tail boat using the Kok River Cruise at the foot of the Mae Fah Luang Bridge.
Important Activities:
1. Elephant trekking, wagon riding, and seeing the tribal life, scenery, various plants and elephants can go to Huai Mae Sai waterfall.
2. Visit souvenir shops from various hill tribes.
3. Watch the tribal culture show.
To ride an elephant:
- Elephant riding from 08.00-16.00 hrs. Contact the Karen Ruam Mit Tour Elephant Club Or ask at the Mae Yao Subdistrict Administration Office, call 053-737359-11 If coming as a group, must contact 3 days in advance. 1 elephant can ride 2 people.
- The elephant trekking route will take you to visit various hill tribe villages that include Karen, Akha, Lahu, Yao, depending on the tourists, but the usual route is the route to Ban Lahu's weaving. Return to the elephant camp.
- Elephant ride around the friendly Karen village + down the Kok River, half an hour, 200 baht / rope / 2 persons.
- Elephant ride around the friendly Karen village + Hill tribe house + down the Kok River 1 hour 400 baht / rope / 2 persons.
- The house travel route will be 500 baht, Baan Yafu 500 baht, Baan Yao 500, walking forest tour takes 2 hours.
- Huai Mae Sai Waterfall, 700 baht, walking forest tour takes 2 hours.
- The house will be woven for 300 baht. Walk along the road for 1 hour.
The path that can go in the dry season:
- Huay Mak Leam Hot Spring Price 400 baht. Walk along the Kok River. And across the shore, takes 1.30 hours.
- Ban Bang Kham Nu, price 400 baht, walking through the forest, takes 1.30 hours.
- Karen House, Ban Klang 500 baht.
