Wat Wang Yao Kui Buri, Kui Buri, Prachuap Khiri Khan. A place of religious activity. Meditation, The general meeting of the Buddhists. Located at 441 Ban Wang Yao, Moo 1, Tambon Kui Buri, Amphoe Kui Buri, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Wang Yao Temple falls under the Mahanikaya sect of Thai Buddhism. The temple occupies a land area of 14 rai, 2 ngan, and 9 square wah, with an official title deed, No. 1564. Additionally, the temple holds three parcels of monastic land totaling 62 rai, 1 ngan, and 56 square wah.

Founded in 1923, the temple takes its name from the village, which signifies the area’s vastness. The land donation for the temple came from Mae Prim, a devoted benefactor. In 1984, Wang Yao Temple received the royal boundary marking, known as the "Wisungkhamsima," which designates it as an official place for monastic activities.

The leadership at Wang Yao Temple has been passed down through a line of abbots, starting with Phra Kling, the first abbot from 1923–1926, followed by Phra Kep from 1926–1936. Subsequently, Phra Thongboem Inthachoto became the abbot and oversaw extensive development until 1999. Currently, the temple is led by Phra Khru Kosol Suphakit, who has continued to restore and enhance the temple, fostering growth in religious practices and maintaining the temple’s structural integrity.

The temple grounds are home to the Maha Chakri Yot Mongkhon Great Pagoda, built in honor of His Majesty the King. The project was initiated by Phra Khru Wiriya Kosol (Luang Por Thongboem Inthachoto). The structure has an octagonal base, a large golden bell-shaped stupa, and stands 49 meters tall with a base 50 meters on each side. The pagoda serves as a venue for religious ceremonies, meditation, and gatherings for the Buddhist community. It has become a prominent site for devotees and tourists alike, drawn to its artistic beauty and cultural value.

Aside from the pagoda, Wang Yao Temple includes an ordination hall measuring 12.5 meters in width and 23.5 meters in length, constructed in 1986, a two-story Thai-style pavilion, a sermon hall, and Thai-style monks' quarters. Numerous revered Buddha images also reside here, including Buddha images in the meditation posture, a replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, nine relics of the Buddha, and over 30 additional Buddha images of various sizes.
