Wat Phra That Doi Wiang Village No. 9, Ban Doi Wiang, Ban Thi Sub-district, about 7 kilometers from Ban Thi District, has an area of approximately 15 rai and on the mountain is enshrined an old chedi containing the relics. It is assumed that it was built in 1220 B.E. during the reign of Queen Chamadevi. According to legend, inscriptions in the palm leaves say that Khun Luang Palawija came to set up a city here which was a frontier city and built a temple on the mountain.

Subsequently, a forest fire spread leaving only a chedi and a small pavilion. This temple also has 3 more old Buddha images, the first of which is a bronze Buddha image in the subduing Mara posture with a lap width of 29 inches. The villagers were in trouble, so they brought this Buddha image to a parade to ask for rain. It turned out that it was raining. So the villagers agreed to name this Buddha image "God of the Rain".

The second one has a lap width of 99 inches and is enshrined at the Shrine of Remembrance. The third image with a width of 89 inches is enshrined at the foot of the mountain. Both of them were laterite inside and plastered outside. When it was discovered, there was not a full head of soil left, so the villagers called it. "Phra Chao Dam Din", the top floor of the mountain is the enshrined of Chedi That Doi Wiang, and every year on the 8th day of the waning moon of the 7th lunar month, there is a tradition to bathe the relics.
