Mahidol University opened the Kanchanaburi Campus in western Thailand in mid-2002 with the main objective of expanding higher education into the upcountry regions, so as to increase local incomes, create occupational opportunities and improve the quality of life of the rural people.

 

Thus far an Administration Building, Lecture Building, Science Laboratory Building, 5 dormitories and associated infrastructure have been constructed on the large, 2,370-acre campus, and 3 field stations, for research in population studies, tropical medicine, and livestock and wildlife hospital have been established.

 

Presently, under construction are a dormitory and extended infrastructures. Seven Programs have been offered by the Faculty of Science and the College of Management.
